S&C's Civic Trust Awards haul
The new year has kicked off with several gongs for S&C! No fewer than four of our projects are winners in the 2023 Civic Trust Awards.
Jacksons Lane Arts Centre (Citizens Design Bureau), St Hilda's College, Oxford (Gort Scott), The Malthouse at the King's School Canterbury (Tim Ronalds Architects) and Kit Kat Club at the Playhouse Theatre, London (Carmody Groarke/Charcoal Blue) were all selected for their sustainable and civic excellence.
The former Playhouse Theatre, which underwent a spectacular transformation to become the celebrated Kit Kat Club, is winner of a Civic Trust Pro-Tem Award. The Pro-Tem Awards recognise temporary structures and installations that make an outstanding contribution to the quality and appearance of the built environment.
The group of four projects are among only 50 National and International Award winners from over 250 applications worldwide and will receive either an Award or be Highly Commended at the 64th Annual Civic Trust Awards Ceremony, to be held on Friday 31st March 2023 at The Marshall Building, London School of Economics. See full list of winners under Downloads in right-hand column.
The aim of the Civic Trust Awards is to encourage the very best in architecture and environmental design, to improve the built environment for all through design, sustainability, inclusiveness and accessibility, and also to reward projects that offer a positive cultural, social, economic or environmental benefit to their local communities.
